Read to Win is a FREE reading program for kids in elementary school that we launched all the way back in March of 2016! It's a completely free program that we offer to teachers, and it's super easy to run!
How Read to Win Works
For each chapter or book they read (depending on the conditions you set), kids will fill out entry sheets that they put into the Read to Win box in your classroom. Once a month from October to June, you just need to draw 5 sheets from the box and those students will receive a certificate that they can redeem online for 2 Free Games of Laser Tag!
This means the more they read, the more entries they get!

When does the program run?
From October to June each school year.
Who can sign up for Read To Win?
The program is currently offered for elementary aged classrooms in the Calgary and Edmonton areas. Eligible schools will be listed in the Read to Win 2025-26 registration form.
Unfortunately, home school families and co-ops are not eligible to sign up to this program.
Laser Tag is designed for ages 6 and up,, so students under 6 would not be able to play.
How do I sign up?
Sign up for the 2025-26 school year is available here: Read to Win 2025-26 Registration
Can I sign up if I teach multiple classes?
Yes, if you teach multiple classes. Just complete the sign up form again. We'll then reach out to confirm your multiple registrations!
If you teach a split grade class, you only need to sign up once.
Can I sign up my colleagues?
No, they must sign up themselves. Please use our “Refer A Teacher” form to tell them about it.
How much does it cost?
It’s 100% free, honestly. We provide everything needed at no cost, including the classroom entry box, reading sheets, and games of Laser Tag. There’s no cost to the teacher, school, students or parents (or anyone else!)
What do you supply?
We supply the Read to Win entry boxes, certificates, instruction sheets, reading sheets, and an explanation letter for parents.
Where can I get more reading sheets?
Extra reading sheets can be found on the "For Families" or the "For Teachers" pages.
When will I get my kit?
We will reach back out to signed up teachers at the end of August with steps for getting their kits!
Can I change how the program works?
Kinda… We’ve designed the program to have kids enter by completing a reading sheet for chapters or entire books, with you drawing winners 5 once a month. You’re welcome to modify the entry requirements to fit your classrooms needs, but please stick to 5 winners a month. We don’t want you giving out a prize to every student at the end of the year, for example.
Can I use the free Laser Tag games for a class trip or party?
The games can't be used as a class trip, nor can they be used for any other event such as a birthday party. Feel free to redeem the games of Laser Tag during regular business hours - no need to book ahead of time.
